AGE: from 5 years old
ABILITY: Beginner to Advanced
Our school age Learn to Swim classes are a six level programme. From beginner one where we focus on confidence, submersion, floating and bubbles, to advanced breather level where we focus on fitness and refining technique. In these classes, there will always be a level to suit your child’s ability, no matter what stage they are at. We also work on water safety throughout all six levels.
The classes are small in size, with a maximum of no more than four children per instructor which is great for attending to your child’s specific needs.
Beginner 1
- Water confidence and safety.
- Kicking and paddling, submersions and blowing bubbles
- Starfish float assisted front and back
Beginner 2
- Water safety and confidence.
- Stafish Float/Gilde assisted front and back
- Kicking and paddling, submersions and blowing bubbles
- Horizontal rotations
Confident Beginner
- Water safety.
- Stafish Float/Gilde unassisted with front and back rotations
- Streamlined kick front, kicking and paddling, blowing bubbles and rotations.
- Intoduction to freestyle and backstroke
Beginner Breather
- Water safety.
- Stafish Float/Gilde unassisted front and back with rotations
- Streamlined kick front and back
- Introduction to breathing, blowing bubbles and rotations.
- Intoduction to freestyle, backstroke and breaststoke kick on back
Intermediate Breather
- Water safety.
- Fitness.
- Freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke focusing on technique development.
Advanced Breather
- Water safety.
- Freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke focusing on technique.
- Fitness with technique for progression to a 25m swimming pool.
Key Information
- Classes run from Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6:30pm and Saturday 8:30am-12:30pm.
- Classes are $20.50 invoiced on a term basis (8 or 9 weeks).
- Parent and child classes are 5-6 children max.
- Preschool and school aged classes are 3-4 children max.
- Classes run for 25-30 mins.
- Our water temperature is set at 32 degrees. We are a salt chlorinated pool with a UV filter which allows our pool to have a lower chlorine content than standard pools.
- Fees are $20.50 per lesson, per week invoiced on a term basis.
- The term fee covers your space in one lesson per week for the school term (8 or 9 weeks).
- Fees are to be paid on invoice to secure your spot by either Direct Credit, Cash or Eftpos at the pool.
- Once the term begins you cannot cancel your class placement and no refunds are given.
- Lessons missed must be paid for and a credit is not given for missed lessons.
- Should fees remain unpaid the booking may be cancelled.
- Minimum ratios per class apply. Should class numbers fall below minimum ratios the lesson time may be rescheduled.
- Customers will be removed from the waitlist after 2 invites have been declined and no contact with Splash Swim School.
- Customers will be removed from the waitlist after 3 months if an invite has been sent and not accepted in that time.
We love celebrating the milestones your children achieve throughout their journey with our swim family, for the big and small achievements. Some of the ways we celebrate are:
- Level graduation certificates.
- Swimmer of the month.
- And of course, lots of smiles and high fives
- Appropriate swimwear must be worn by all swimmers. (We do not recommend large rash shirts or baggy shorts as this restricts movement and can hinder swim progression)
- Infants and young children must wear a reusable swim nappy or close-fitting swim pants to prevent accidents occurring in the pool. NO disposable nappies are to be worn in the pool. We recommend “Zoggs – Swimsure or Adjustable Swim Nappy” We have size samples available to try on at the pool.
- All children in preschool and school aged classes (not toddlers) require goggles and a cap which can be fitted for your child.
- For your convenience we have a selection of quality Zoggs goggles and swim caps available at reception for purchase.
